The two Directors of QX Components Richard Snape and Dave Pilgrim have been working within the Motor Trade all their lives; some may say they're old however they insist they're just a little mature.

The company operate from a 14,000 square foot factory in Manchester devoted to remanufacturing and warehousing

QX are passionate about the range they can offer, they are fanatical about anything very new or very old. Their buyers of old core spend hours each week trawling the country for anything rare.

Customers are amazed when they request say a Starter Motor for a Ford Anglia, they don't just know what it is, they've got it built on the shelf, although very old units such as these have mainly been lost to the market when the vehicles were scrapped, to ensure future availability they continue to buy the old units whenever they come across them.

Equally QX strive to make the units available for newer vehicles, they recently managed to get some old unit Starter Motors for the latest 2.0 TDI Automatic Audi A3 / VW Golf and also the Alternators and Starters for the new Fiat Punto 1.3 16 valve turbo diesel.

As the market has demanded QX Components also imports around 1500 brand new units a month enabling them to supplement their range for the latest vehicles; this also enables QX to create the old core in the market place.

They also get involved in specialist markets such as Starter Motors for Jet Ski's, marine applications, agricultural and factory machinery, basically anything that uses an Alternator or Starter Motor.

QX have their current catalogue which has been reprinted for 2006, this new publication includes the explosion in references seen in the Rotating Electrics market in recent years.

They have kept the range of units down to 1850; they use fewer references than their competitors as they try to rationalize their range wherever practical. If for example 45 and 55amp Alternators were originally fitted to a vehicle, they simply supply the 55amp unit and list just one reference. The fact that around 85% of alternators are supplied complete with fans and pulleys enables them to rationalize their range further.

If 0.9 and 1.1kw Starter Motors were originally fitted, they would simply supply the 1.1kw unit.

An Alternator or Starter Motor is usually one of the largest sales you make and if it arrives wrong it can tie a ramp up for hours, for this reason it's important to get it right first time, QX have a massive database of cross referencing, and their OE database alone has around 26,550 references.
Please enter either the OE part number on your old alternator / starter motor or your current suppliers reference to search for the QX reference:
